Lenovo has unveiled a slew of new premium Android tablets at CES 2025. One tablet is aimed at gamers while the others are aimed at creatives/students.
Lenovo always makes a huge splash at CES, as it's where the company unveils its latest collection of PCs. However, the company also takes the opportunity every CES to announce new Android tablets, and this time, it has four new devices to showcase. These include the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, the Lenovo Tab LTE, and the Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 3.
The Yoga Tab Plus, Idea Tab Pro, and Tab LTE are aimed at students and creatives, whereas the Legion Tab Gen 3 is aimed at gamers. Here's a breakdown of each new tablet and where they slot in Lenovo's lineup.
The Yoga Tab Plus is the cream of the crop among Lenovo's new Android tablets. Lenovo calls it its "first on-device AI tablet," as it has support for Lenovo AI Now, a suite of AI-powered features that run on-device. Lenovo AI Now is powered by Meta's Llama 3 large language model running on the integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Lenovo says that a personal knowledge base "safeguards, organizes, and stores user data directly on the device, enabling intuitive search, retrieval, and interaction" with documents, images, and other data. This allows users to "ask questions, generate summaries, and gain insights" from their personal knowledge base all on-device.
Lenovo AI Now will be getting more new features soon, including cross-device knowledge retrieval, which lets users "seamlessly search for critical documents across their AI PC and supported tablets." AI Now will soon add support for additional languages, including German, Spanish, and French.
The tablet also supports a few cloud-based AI features such as the Lenovo AI Note writing assistant and AI Transcript for real-time voice-to-text conversions.
In terms of hardware specs, the Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus has a 12.7-inch, 2944x1840 resolution LCD panel with an anti-reflection "PureSight Pro" coating. The display reaches a maximum brightness of 900 nits, refreshes up to 144Hz, and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.
It features two tweeters and four SLS woofers tuned by Harman Kardon, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a large 10,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging via a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. It also has a single 13MP wide-angle front camera and dual 13MP+2MP rear cameras, and supports Wi-Fi 7. The tablet runs the latest Android 15 release out of the box.
The Yoga Tab Plus can optionally be paired with a 2-in-1 keyboard and a stylus called the Lenovo Tab Pen Pro. Lenovo says its proprietary TurboTouch technology minimizes writing latency, and its haptic feedback and natural sound deliver a highly immersive experience.
Lenovo will sell the Yoga Tab Plus for $699.99 later this month. It'll be offered in two colors: Tidal Teal and Seashell.
The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro isn't as powerful or feature-filled as the Yoga Tab Plus, but it still has some high-end specifications. It's powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 chip with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It runs on a 10,200mAh battery topped up by 45W fast charging. Lenovo says the new Idea Tab Pro is up to 60% more powerful than the previous Lenovo Tab P12 model, according to AnTuTu benchmarks.
Like the Yoga Tab Plus, the Idea Tab Pro also has a 12.7-inch, 2944x1840 resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate. However, it reaches a maximum brightness of only 400 nits and lacks the anti-reflection "PureSight Pro" coating. However, there is a "Matte Edition" of the tablet that has a paper-like anti-glare matte display which reduces reflections by up to 95%.
While the Idea Tab Pro doesn't support Lenovo AI Now, it does support Circle to Search with Google and the Gemini app for cloud-based AI functionality. It also supports Lenovo's proprietary TurboSystem, which maximizes performance for faster app launches, enhanced system stability, and extended battery life.
Otherwise, the Idea Tab Pro has quad JBL speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, a single 8MP front-facing camera with fixed focus, a single 13MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, Wi-Fi 6E support, and a single USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port. It runs Android 14 out of the box.
The Lenovo Idea Tab Pro will be available starting in April 2025. It is expected to be sold for $349.99. It'll be offered in Luna Grey or Seafoam Green and can optionally be bundled with a 2-in-1 keyboard and the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus similar to the Yoga Tab Plus.
The Lenovo Tab LTE is a lightweight 10.1" tablet aimed at casual users. Its LCD has a 1920x1200 resolution, a refresh rate of up to 60Hz, and a maximum brightness of 400 nits.
It's powered by the budget MediaTek Helio G85 processor with Wi-Fi 5, 4GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. It runs on a modest 5100mAh battery with 15W charging support. It has a single USB-C 2.0 port and, unlike the other tablets in this post, includes a microSD/SIM card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Lenovo Tab LTE has dual speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, only one microphone, a single 5MP front-facing camera with fixed focus, a single 8MP rear-facing camera with autofocus, and runs Android 14 out of the box. It'll be available starting June 2025 in Luna Grey and Polar Blue colors at an expected starting price of $159. Lenovo says it'll offer a selection of cases to go with the tablet, including a Clear Case with stand, a Folio Case, and a Play Suite case.
Lastly, there's the third-generation Lenovo Legion Tab, marketed under the Legion brand as it's targeted at gamers. It's powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with Wi-Fi 7 support, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. It has an 8.8" 2560x1600 resolution "PureSight" touch display with a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz (in supported games). The Legion Coldfront Vapor Chamber is 14% larger in this generation, keeping the tablet cool while gaming. Its 6550mAh battery, 45W fast charging, and dual USB-C ports with bypass charging support enable long gaming sessions and ample peripheral connectivity.
Legion Space, Lenovo's game management software, has been completely redesigned and now synchronizes device settings, game stores/libraries, and RGB settings across Legion devices. Gaming Zone will be added to Legion Space in Q1 2025, bringing AI-powered features like Game Coach to analyze your in-game performance, Game Clip Master to create content from hours of streamed footage, and Game Companion to generate AI avatar companions that react to your gameplay.
The tablet runs Android 14 and features a single 8MP front camera, a single 13MP rear camera, a dual speaker system, and two microphones. It weighs just 0.77lbs and measures 8.21" x 5.10" x 0.30".
The Legion Tab (8.8", 3) will go on sale this month in an Eclipse Black color with an expected starting price of $499.99.
