OnePlus today unveiled the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, the third-generation of their mid-range true wireless earbuds. At just $79.99, the Nord Buds 3 Pro offers several features found in more premium earbuds, such as a hybrid adaptive ANC and transparency mode. Here's what you need to know about these new earbuds.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro's hybrid active noise cancellation feature generates anti-noise signals to cancel out unwanted sounds, like the humming of engines. The buds offer up to 49dB of noise reduction, according to OnePlus, and have an ultra-wide frequency range reaching 4,000Hz, allowing them to handle both low-pitch and high-pitch sounds. They also support the company's scenario-based Smart Noise Cancellation feature, which OnePlus states can intelligently detect ambient sounds and switch to the "most suitable noise reduction mode in real time" to balance between noise cancellation effectiveness and convenience.
Like many premium earbuds, the mid-range Nord Buds 3 Pro offer a dedicated transparency mode that uses the microphones to allow outside noise in while you're wearing them. During voice or video calls, the "Crystal Clear Call" technology uses the triple-microphone stereo setup to deliver "exceptionally clear and stable audio."
Each bud has a 12.4mm titanized diaphragm driver that, coupled with the company's "BassWave 2.0" technology, deliver a powerful bass. BassWave 2.0 adjusts bass frequencies to create a "deep and broad low-end while maintaining clarity and fidelity." If you aren't a fan of a bass-heavy profile, "Master EQ" offers a "Balanced" and "Serenade" mode that you can switch to.
In terms of battery life, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro offers up to 12 hours of music playback on a single charge with ANC disabled. The charging case provides an additional 32 hours, so a combined 44 hours of listening. If ANC is turned on, the earbuds plus case provide a total listening time of 20 hours. Charging the buds is quick, as OnePlus as you can get 11 hours of playback with just 10 minutes of charge time.
Connectivity-wise, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro support Bluetooth 5.4 with Dual Connection support and Google Fast Pair integration.
The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro will be available in Starry Black and Soft Jade for $79.99 USD and $119.99 CAD. Open sales begin on July 16th on OnePlus.com and in early August on Amazon.
