The Pebblebee Universal item trackers work with both Apple and Google's networks

Google launched its Find My Device network back in April of this year, and when they did, Pebblebee was one of the first companies to release Bluetooth item trackers compatible with the new network. The Bluetooth item trackers they released at the time, though, were only compatible with Google's network, so you couldn't use them at all with an iPhone. Now, however, Pebblebee has launched a trio of "universal" item trackers that are compatible with both Apple's Find My and Google's Find My Device networks.

The new Pebblebee Universal line of Bluetooth item trackers consists of three different products: the Pebblebee Card Universal, the Pebblebee Clip Universal, and the Pebblebee Tag Universal.

  • Pebblebee Card Universal
    • Designed to go with your wallet or passport.
    • Rechargeable, lasts up to 18 months on a single charge
    • Has LED lights and a speaker to locate the item
    • Rated IPX6 for water resistance
    • Comes with a magnetic charger to USB-C charging cable
  • Pebblebee Clip Universal (PB-531-S)
    • With its included keyring, it's designed to hang on a key chain or bag
    • Rechargeable, lasts up to 12 months on a single charge
    • Has LED lights and a speaker to locate the item
    • Rated IPX6 for water resistance
    • Comes with USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a carabiner
  • Pebblebee Tag Universal
    • With its included double-sided adhesive tab and collar/strap attachment, it's designed to attach to anything
    • Rechargeable, lasts up to 8 months on a single charge
    • Has LED lights and a speaker to locate the item
    • Rated IPX6 for water resistance
    • Comes with a magnetic charger to USB-C charging cable, 1 double sided adhesive tab, and strap/collar attachment

Although the three Pebblebee Universal item trackers are compatible with both Apple's and Google's networks, they can't operate with both networks simultaneously. Pebblebee says that using Google's Find My Device network prohibits the use of Apple's Find My network, and vice versa. In order to change networks, you'll need to factory reset the device.

All three Pebblebee Universal products cost $34.99 per tracker, according to Pebblebee. If you're in the U.S., you can purchase the Pebblebee Universal products from Best Buy stores or online.

If you're wondering whether it's worth picking up one or more of these new Pebblebee item trackers, I shared my thoughts on the Google-exclusive version of these products in episode 47 of the podcast. Although Google's Find My Device network has its issues, I still think it's worth picking up at least one of these products for some added peace of mind.
